Peirce Dictionary: Semiosis, Semeiosy

Semiosis, Semeiosy

"It is important to understand what I mean by semiosis. All dynamical action, or action of brute force, physical or psychical, either takes place between two subjects (whether they react equally upon each other, or one is agent and the other patient, entirely or partially) or at any rate is a resultant of such actions between pairs. But by "semiosis" I mean, on the contrary, an action, or influence, which is, or involves, a coöperation of three subjects, such as a sign, its object, and its interpretant, this tri-relative influence not being in any way resolvable into actions between pairs." ('Pragmatism', EP 2:411, 1907)

u already know what basic rules it has had 2 follow 2 come in2 existence.

the transmitter/ inventer of the output first thought of it AFTER receiving some sort of sensory input &
has now found some way to materialise his/her thought in2 a new sensory input 4 u 2  take in (& hopefully understand)

semiotic architecture - the vague definition

semiotics. a general philosophical theory of signs and symbols that deals especially with their function in both artificially constructed & natural languages & comprises syntactics, semantics & pragmatics.

architecture. the art of constructing a unifying or coherent form or structure.

so in laymen terms. it’s all about the human experience & the constructs we, as a species, use to communicate with each other.
